What Marea is, and is not

Marea is a wellbeing space for your personal use. It is not medical, psychological, financial, or professional advice of any kind, and it does not replace a professional. If you are going through a crisis or need help, reach out to a health professional or a support line.

Your password and your data

Marea works with zero knowledge: your account and your space open with the same password, and that password never leaves your device. Two things are derived from it through separate paths: one for the server to verify it is you, and one to encrypt your content, which never travels to any server. We cannot read your content, nor recover it. As a second key we offer you the option to enable your fingerprint or face (Face ID, Touch ID, or equivalent); if your device does not support it, or you prefer not to use it, we give you a backup code, once, when you create your space. You are the only one who keeps your password and, if applicable, your code. If you lose them and did not enable your fingerprint or face, your space cannot be opened or recovered by any means, and SIMPLIXITY HOLDING SAS is not liable for that loss. Keep a backup if you want to preserve your content.

Privacy and data processing

We do not process what you write, because we cannot read it. It is stored locked on your device and only your password or, if applicable, your backup code opens it.

What personal data we process and why: your email address, to create and keep your account, to charge you if you choose to continue after the trial, and to be able to account for your acceptance of these terms. We also store the date you accepted and which version you accepted, and the record of your plan changes, including any courtesy grants, who authorized them and when, to administer your account. For payment, Mercado Pago processes your payment information; we do not store your card details.

Advertising. To see how people find Marea, we use Google Analytics: it receives the pages you visit, your IP address and your device, never what you write. And to measure which ads work, we share your email with Meta (Facebook and Instagram) in an encrypted, one-way form, only to match the person who saw the ad with the person who subscribed. Meta never receives your email in plain text or anything you write. We also use Metricool to measure site traffic: it receives the pages you visit, your IP address and your device, same as Google Analytics. All three are optional: you can decline them in the cookie notice or ask us to stop by writing to hello@simplixity.co.

Your rights. Under Colombia's Ley 1581 de 2012, you may access, update and correct your data, request proof of your authorization, be informed of how we use it, withdraw your authorization, and request deletion where the law allows. Write to hello@simplixity.co and we will respond.

If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your email, your encrypted backup, and the data we are not required to keep. There are two things we do keep, and we tell you which and why: the billing records for anything you were charged, and usage records, stripped of your identifier and with no way to be tied back to you. We keep the billing records because Colombian law requires keeping them, accounting records for ten years under article 28 of Ley 962 de 2005. We do not use them for anything else. Your content does not need deleting from any server of ours, because it was never there in the clear.

Emails we send you

With your account we send you two kinds of email. Service emails, which are part of administering it and cannot be refused while your account is active: confirming your email, telling you a charge did not go through, that a process was left halfway, or that something about your plan changed. And Marea news: improvements, new content, promotions, and reminders to come back if you left something unfinished. By accepting these terms you give us prior, express and informed authorization to send you both, under Colombian Ley 1581 de 2012 and Decreto 1377 de 2013. You can refuse the news emails whenever you want, with no explanation and without losing anything in your account: every email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask at hello@simplixity.co. We never write to you about what you keep in your space, because we cannot read it. We keep a record of every email we send you, with the date, the subject and the version of these terms you had accepted, so we can prove to an authority that we wrote to you with your authorization. We keep that record for five years.

Subscription and payments

Marea offers a free trial before any charge, so you can decide calmly whether to continue. The free trial is one per account: if you come back after using it, your subscription is charged from day one. For that reason we do not offer refunds for a period already charged. When the trial ends, if you continue, the premium subscription is charged automatically through Mercado Pago, at the current price shown in the app, until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from the app, and cancellation applies to the next charge, with no future charges.

By accepting these terms and choosing to continue after the trial, you expressly agree that the service begins immediately. For that reason, under article 47 of Colombian Ley 1480 de 2011, the right of withdrawal does not apply to a period already charged.

Gift bonds

Gift Marea is a one-time charge, not a subscription: you pay once for a single-use code that another person redeems for the months of Marea you chose. The code is generated and delivered immediately once the payment is confirmed. For that reason we do not offer refunds for a bond already purchased, whether redeemed or not. By accepting these terms and completing the purchase, you expressly agree that the service (generating and delivering the code) begins immediately, and under article 47 of Colombian Ley 1480 de 2011, the right of withdrawal does not apply once the code has been generated and delivered.

Proper use

You must be of legal age to use Marea. You use it for your personal wellbeing and not for unlawful purposes or to harm others.

Liability

Marea is provided as is and as available. To the extent permitted by law, SIMPLIXITY HOLDING SAS is not liable for indirect damages, nor for the loss of content that occurs because you forget your password or code, or because you delete the app without keeping a backup.

Changes

We may update these terms. The current version will be available in the app.
